Real Food: sounds so simple, but finding it has become tricky in a world of look-a likes. Taste-a likes, though, don’t exist. It’s real, or it ain’t. And, happily, we all know the difference. Tea Together has spent the past few years making, and seeking out, the right stuff.
What we make is as simple, and pure, as can be. Organic Jams & Marmalades, Chutneyed Fruit, our own take on Tomato Ketchup x 2 – basic, and hot.
What we seek from other makers is food that has stubbornly resisted the cosmetic and commercial attentions of industrialization, that has nothing to do with the chemists’ art or the designers’ skills. Live and vibrant, this is food from people who themselves grow it, make it and who, up to now, mostly sell it only within a strictly local circle of faithful clients.
Neither our makers, nor ourselves, can produce quantities of standardised product, or deliver the total consistency of an industrialised process. What we do deliver, however, is vibrancy, clarity and character, wrapped up in food that has the flavour of this person, this time, this place.
Tea Together is based in New York and in the North of France. We supply fine food shops throughout the USA, Europe and Asia, and our Jams and Minibar range are the choice of some of the worlds’ most interesting and ambitious hotels.
Our mission statement: to turn the unremarked details of day-to-day life into small but authentic pleasures. In doing so, we promote and encourage the cause of real food.
